چکیده
The large yellow croaker Larimichthys crocea (Richardson, 1846) (Sciaenidae) is distributed in southern Yellow Sea, East China and northern South Sea of a commercially important nearshore fishery species. L. was listed on the IUCN Red List as “Critically Endangered” 2020 mainly due to over-exploration its spawning over-wintering aggregations 1950s–1980s throughout distribution region. However, detailed studies reproductive dynamics were limited past three decades. In this study, examined traditional Guanjingyang (GJY) ground, one 15 well-known ones Samples collected using set nets from April 2019 November 2021 ensure at least 20 samples for all 12 months. A total 1,006 individuals caught, ranging 46 391 mm standard length (SL) 1.45 1,110.05 g body weight (BW). growth dimorphism found between sexes with females heavier than males when sizes exceeded 61 SL (non-parametric ANCOVA, p < 0.01). Gonad histology revealed, first time, that able spawn almost year-round both males. Two peaks, spring autumn, identified March May June October minimum sexual maturity 160 112 male. 50% 187.2 150.2 Results showed female decreased about 20% six peaks 2 months earlier 1 month extension autumn GJY. Clearly, national fishing moratorium regulation August, an management measure China, can only protect peak partly. Further evaluation influence climate change strategies stock recruitment highly recommended.

Molecular characterization and functional analysis of a piscidin gene in large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea)
The piscidin family, which includes potent antimicrobial peptides with broad-spectrum activity, plays an important role in the innate immune system of fish. In this study, we cloned piscidin-5-like type 3 (Lcpis5lt3) in large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea). Multiple alignments with other known piscidins revealed amino acid conservation throughout the fish, especially at the signal peptide...
متن کاملTranscriptome Analysis Reveals L-amino Acids as Olfactory Stimulant in the Large Yellow Croaker (Larimichthys crocea)
Fish perceived small molecules with high aqueous solubility by chemoreception. The chemical senses of fish can be divided into olfaction, gustation and less well defined sense which is represented by the general chemical senses and the existing chemosensory cells [1,2]. Fish olfactory sense can detect four main classes of chemicals (odorants) mainly; amino acids, gonadal steroids, bile acids an...
متن کاملLiver Transcriptome Analysis of the Large Yellow Croaker (Larimichthys crocea) during Fasting by Using RNA-Seq
The large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) is an economically important fish species in Chinese mariculture industry. To understand the molecular basis underlying the response to fasting, Illumina HiSeqTM 2000 was used to analyze the liver transcriptome of fasting large yellow croakers. A total of 54,933,550 clean reads were obtained and assembled into 110,364 contigs. Annotation to the NCB...
متن کاملMolecular and immune response characterizations of IL-6 in large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea).
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional inflammatory cytokine which exists in multiple tissues and cell lines. In the present study, the full-length cDNA and the genomic sequence of IL-6 (LcIL-6) were cloned from large yellow croaker, Larimichthys crocea. The full-length cDNA of LcIL-6 was 1066 base pairs (bp), containing an open reading frame (ORF) of 678 bp encoding for 225 amino acids, a 5...
متن کاملDevelopment of microsatellite markers for the small yellow croaker Larimichthys polyactis (Sciaenidae) by cross-species amplification.
The small yellow croaker (Larimichthys polyactis) is a highly valued fish for human consumption found in the Western Pacific that was considered endangered until recently because of overfishing. We selected microsatellite markers for this species from markers developed for Miichthys miiuy, also of the family Sciaenidae. Among 43 markers polymorphic for M. miiuy, 11 were found to be polymor...
